aboutbooks is aware of the sensitivity of personal data and in collecting and processing the user’s personal data takes care to guard privacy. Personal data is collected, processed and used in accordance with statutory regulations.
aboutbooks will not pass on or sell your personal data to third parties, unless passing the data on is expressly permitted by statutory regulations or on the basis of the following consent.

1. I agree that aboutbooks GmbH, Gänsheidestrasse 26, 70148 Stuttgart, Germany (hereinafter called “aboutbooks”) may collect my personal data and process and use this to set up, implement and develop my usage relationship with aboutbooks within the context of the internet portal lovelybooks.com.
Personal data means existing data (e.g. name, address, email address, date of birth, membership name, password) and user data (e.g. IP address, user behaviour).
2. I agree that aboutbooks will provide public access to my membership name and all contents input by myself such as book collections, contributions, reviews, evaluations, commentaries and the profile I have input. This information may be read by other users without my knowledge. Personal data is not published by aboutbooks. My profile contains initially only the details of the made-up name (membership name) I chose when registering and no other personal details which could reveal my identity. If I wish I can publish details about myself in my own profile (e.g. email address, name, questionnaire). If I do not place any details about myself in the profile, other members will not be able to view personal data which aboutbooks has collected and stored, with the exception of my membership name.i
3. I am aware that I have the option of deleting my book collections and the details in my profile at any time. I agree that aboutbooks may continue to store my email address and membership name even if the usage contract is cancelled by myself or by aboutbooks, and may continue to publish my membership name and my evaluations, reviews and commentaries up to the time they are deleted.
4. I agree that aboutbooks will make search functions available for users of the website which will enable my own content which I have published in my book catalogue and profile to be found.
5. I agree that other users may themselves evaluate and comment on all reviews, commentaries, evaluations and other content published by myself and that these commentaries will also be published. aboutbooks will ensure compliance with the regulations on commenting on contributions as set out in the General terms of business http://www.lovelybooks.com/termsandconditions.pfd and commentaries which infringe these regulations will be deleted.
6. I agree that content input by myself in the books catalogue may be statistically evaluated and published.
7. I agree that aboutbooks may collect, process and use my user data, including the use of cookies. Cookies are small identification marks which the webserver sends to my browser and my computer stores. Cookies are used e.g. for providing a personal greeting with my membership name. Information which aboutbooks has obtained with the help of cookies will be used exclusively for the purpose of adapting and further developing the service provided according to my wishes. I am aware that I can set my browser so that it informs me before accepting a cookie or does not accept cookies.
8. I agree that aboutbooks may carry out statistical evaluations with the help of IP addresses for the purposes of administering and optimising the website. The IP addresses are not associated with identifiable personal data.
9. I agree that aboutbooks may create usage profiles for pseudonyms for the purposes of advertising, market research or for designing the online platform lovelybooks.com in a way which best suits user needs. I may refuse to give consent for this creation of usage profiles. aboutbooks will not run the user profiles created together with the owner of the pseudonym, in accordance with the requirements of art. 6 of the German Online Data Protection Law (TDDSG).
10. I agree that aboutbooks may process and use my personal data for lovelybooks marketing purposes (e.g. newsletter, sending general information, emails of an advertising nature) if I have given my express prior consent to this. I may give this consent separately during registration or later in my profile. I am aware that I have the option of cancelling this information at any time. I can do this exclusively via inputs in my profile.
11. aboutbooks employs external companies (e.g. hosting companies) to support technical maintenance of the website, data processing and data storage. I agree that aboutbooks may pass personal data on to these companies for this purpose. aboutbooks chooses these service-providers carefully and these companies are subject to aboutbooks’ data protection principles in all circumstances. These companies are not permitted to pass on your personal data.
I may revoke this declaration of consent in relation to aboutbooks at any time with effect for the future, e.g. by sending a declaration of revocation to the address: webmaster@lovelybooks.de
